Beef Kabobs
Total preparation and cooking time: 30 minutes
1pound boneless beef top sirloin steak,
cut 1 inch thick
2red or yellow bell peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
1onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
12mushrooms cut in half
1tablespoon chopped fresh basil or
1 teaspoon dried basil
1tablespoon prepared Italian dressing
2large cloves garlic, minced

Soak eight bamboo skewers in water 10 minutes. Cut beef steak into 1-1/4-inch pieces. Toss beef and vegetables with 1 tablespoon basil, dressing and garlic in a bowl. Alternately thread beef and vegetables on skewers. Place kabobs on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, uncovered, about 8 to 10 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally.

Teriyaki-Marinated
Beef Steak

Total preparation and cooking time: 35 minutes minutes
(Marinating time: 6 hours or overnight)
1beef top round steak, cut 1-1/2 inches thick
(about 3 pounds)
3/4cup prepared teriyaki sauce
2tablespoons dry sherry
1tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger

Combine teriyaki sauce, sherry and ginger in small bowl. Place beef steak and marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or as long as overnight, turning occasionally. Remove steak; discard marinade. Place steak on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 25 to 28 minutes for medium rare doneness, turning occasionally. Remove; let stand 10 minutes. Carve into thin slices.
Makes 4 servings.
