Your Help Counts

As the largest grocery sponsor, Food Lion enables customers to contribute to the campaign at the checkout during our "Food Lion…For The Children" campaign by selling Miracle Coupon Balloons and Children's Miracle Network bracelets for $1. 100% of the funds raised stays in your local communities.

In addition, our stores, distribution centers and corporate locations host fund raisers such as car shows, customer appreciation days, food sales, golf tournaments, bike rides, bowling tournaments and many more activities. The money raised helps to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, provide un-reimbursed care and services not covered by insurance.

• $354,764 to Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
• $317,079 to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter, Norfolk, Va.
• $288,041 to Eastern Carolina's Children's Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
• $272,099 to Children's Hospital and VCU Health System, Children's Medical Center, Richmond, VA
• $151,091 to Carilion Medical Center for Children, Roanoke, VA and Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg VA
• $130,780 to Johns Hopkins Children's Center, Baltimore, Md.
• $102,155 to University of Virginia Children's Hospital, Charlottesville, VA.

Throughout our history of supporting Children's Miracle Network Food Lion has made major gifts to our local Children's Miracle Network hospital. Major gift announcements include:

• $1.0 million pledge to University of Virginia Children's Hospital for community health initiatives.
• $500,000 to Levine Children's Hospital for Children's Research Center Endowment.
• $1.5 million to Levine Children's Hospital for Pediatric Rehabilitation Floor.
• $100,000 to Medical University of South Carolina to help expand their Lean Team, helping to prevent and treat childhood obesity.
• $250,000 gift to Duke Children's Hospital for New Food Allergy Program.
• $100,000 gift to Duke Children's Hospital to create Nutrition Center.
• $500,000 pledge to Palmetto Children's Hospital Health Foundation for nurses station and patient playroom.
• $250,000 gift to Johns Hopkins Children's Center for new patient playroom.
• $1 million to VCU Medical Center to renovate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit .
• $1 million to University of Virginia Children's Hospital for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• $1 million to Children's National Medical Center for Neurology Outpatient Clinic.
• $627,000 to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters for Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit.
• $1 million to Carolinas Healthcare System Children's Hospital for Pediatric Rehabilitation Pavilion.
