Food Lion Donates $10,000 in Food to Feed 450 Local Families

Central Virginia Food Bank Mobile Pantry to distribute food with help of Food lion volunteers May 23

RICHMOND, VA. — Food Lion is donating $10,000 of its store-brand food products to Central Virginia Food Bank at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 to feed 450 area needy families through the food bank’s Mobile Food Pantry at Moore Street Baptist Church located at 1408 W. Leigh St.

“Food Lion is a strong community partner and is dedicated to assisting hunger relief and nutrition education programs in the communities we serve,” said Bill Garcia, Community Relations Manager for Food Lion. “Participating in the food distribution event in Richmond, Va., is another great opportunity for us to give back to our customers.”
