Service Excellence Survey Sweepstakes
Food Lion supermarkets gathered feedback from customers in 2011. There were three waves of data collection, one at the first of the year, one in the summer, and a final wave in the fall. Shoppers received invitations on cash register receipts to take part in the survey and enter annual sweepstakes worth $2,000.
The winners for 2011 were selected in a random drawing in late November, from among all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depended on the total number of entries received during the year for each of the five banners. Verification of winners was completed in late December.

Data collection for the 2012 Service Excellence Program will follow a similar schedule this year: Wave 1, January 18 to April 1; Wave 2, May 2 to August 1; and Wave 3, September 3 to November 4. The same $2,000 sweepstakes prizes will be offered for each banner, with the drawing in November.
