Add a Salad for Better Health

We've all heard an apple a day has proven health benefits, now add a salad.

Eating just one salad a day provides key nutrients - vitamins C, E, B6 and folic acid - and reduces risk of obesity, heart disease and other illnesses, according to research conducted at UCLA and Louisiana State University.

Raw vegetables in salad offer added health benefits of fiber and antioxidants for boosting the immune system. And salad dressing, when used in moderation, helps the body absorb certain nutrients. The study was published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
