Dog treats can make you sick

Handling pet foods and treats contaminated with Salmonella bacteria can make you (and your pet) sick. So wash your hands before and after handling any pet foods and treats. Wash pet food bowls and scooping utensils with soap and hot water after each use, advises the Food and Drug Administration.
