Not that you need the reminder, but it's that time of year again: new year, new beginnings. Time to make those resolutions and get on a healthier track.

But those well-minding resolutions shouldn't be a stressor in your life. What if we told you that you can have fun and be a bit healthier? Sounds great, right? Well stay with us as we introduce a fun, new concept: healthy snack options.

Okay, it's not exactly a novel idea, but we do have 10 snacking options that are a breeze to make, a delight to test out, and will have you forgetting about all those sugary, greasy snacks you want to avoid.

Frozen Yogurt and Granola

Grab a few cupcake liners and make this delicious frozen treat! Layer granola and your favorite yogurt, top with fruit and throw them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Remove and store in a freezer bag in the freezer for an easy grab and go frozen healthy snack.

Almond Butter Apple Slices

Slice a few apples and drizzle a little almond butter. For an extra kick, top with cacao nibs. This is a great mid-day snack that is sure to leave you feeling satisfied.

Avocado Deviled Eggs

Hard-boil eggs and remove the yolks, add them to a bowl. In that bowl, mix in two avocados. Then, use that as your deviled egg mixture. If you'd like, you can also add in a little bit of sour cream along with salt and pepper. Pipe your mixture into the hard-boiled eggs using an icing bag for smooth look. Top with salt and pepper.

Dark Chocolate Almonds

Melt dark chocolate over a double broiler (or in the microwave one minute at a time). Try to use the darkest chocolate with the least amount of sugar. Once melted, add in about one cup of almonds and mix well. Lay them flat to dry on wax paper, top with sea salt if desired and freeze for about 20 minutes until hardened. Remove from the freezer, break apart and keep stored in the refrigerator. The perfect treat!

Protein Wraps

This is the perfect snack when you need a bit of protein—and it's great for kids as well. Simply wrap a cheese stick in your favorite lunch meat. Make a few ahead of time to grab on your way out the door.

Smoothie Bowls

Smoothie bowls make for a great breakfast, but also a mid-day snack. Start with a base of frozen bananas and add in your favorite fruit, mix until blended. Then, add your favorite healthy toppings. The toppings make the smoothie bowl, so get creative—flax seeds, cacao nibs, coconuts, berries, you name it.

Mason Jar Fruit

Mason jars are the best way to create on-the-go snacks with the perfect portion sizes. Get creative and use mixed berries, grapes, veggies, etc. Prepare ahead of time and toss one into a purse or backpack!

The Poached Egg

Once you try the poached egg, you will find yourself putting it on everything. Packed with protein and the perfect topping for anything from sautéed spinach to a turkey burger, the poached egg is a healthy snack you'll crave.

The Yogurt Parfait

Another great mason jar treat, simply layer granola, yogurt and fruit in a mason jar. You can make these ahead of time at the beginning of the week, seal tightly and leave in your refrigerator for the perfect mid-morning snack.

Nice Cream

Need a frozen treat? Nice Cream might be the best thing to ever happen to healthy eating. Start with a base of frozen bananas, add in a tablespoon of coco powder, and blend. Be sure not to add any liquid to keep the base more of an ice cream texture. Then, top with dark chocolate, berries, nuts, or whatever else you dream up!

Plan your meals and snacks this New Year around these healthy food options and you will be sure to succeed!
