Graduation should be one thing above all else: fun! And nothing is more fun - for the graduate, family and close friends - than pulling off an incredibly themed shindig. No matter who you choose to celebrate with, this day is all about your child’s big achievement. And preparing the perfect graduation snacks can be easy. All it takes is a touch of creativity!

One great place to add some themed pizzazz is with the snacks. So, here are five fun graduation snacks that are sure to dazzle and make your graduate feel special on this exciting day.

Graduation Snack #1: Themed Candy Pails

This one is so simple. All it takes is some candy (something pretty much all grads love), pails or serving bowls and some labels. Although paper and tape work great as well.

Stick to the theme by labeling the pails or bowls with phrases such as:

  • Honor Roll: filled with rolled chocolate-flavored candies or rolled fruit snacks
  • Book Worm: filled with gummy worms
  • Class Rings: filled with ring lollipops or fruit gummy rings
  • Student Loans: filled with chocolate gold coins

Graduation Snack #2: “One Smart Cookie” Tray

Your graduate must be one smart cookie in order to have achieved this milestone. So, why not make a batch of their favorite cookies? You could also pick up a variety of fresh-baked flavors from the bakery department at your local Food Lion. Then, place them on a platter and write a little sign that says “One Smart Cookie”.

Make this graduation snack even tastier with a cookie decorating station equipped with a variety of toppings. Here are some ideas:

  • Frosting - vanilla, chocolate, cream cheese, etc.
  • Sprinkles
  • Candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Shredded coconut
  • Crumbled chocolate sandwich cookies

Not only will this decorating station be delicious, it’ll also create a fun activity for your graduate and other family members to enjoy.

Graduation Snack #3: Brownie Graduation Caps

Mark this exciting occasion with another sweet treat that’s easy to make and looks just like the iconic cap your graduate just wore. Made with mini brownies, chocolate-covered cookies, chocolate frosting and candy-coated chocolate pieces (plus red licorice, too), these Brownie Graduation Caps are chocolatey and delicious.  So, if you choose to make this graduation snack, you’re sure to satisfy everyone’s cocoa cravings.

And to make these bite-sized treats personalized for your graduate, be sure to choose candy-coated chocolate pieces that are their school colors. Then, save the remaining candies for snacking at a later time.

Graduation Snack #4: Diploma Cookies

Turn rolled wafter cookies into adorably scrumptious edible diplomas. Simply tie a bow with ribbon around each wafer, and there you have it - quick and easy diploma cookies! So simple, right?

But, if you're feeling extra creative, make the bows yourself with icing. Yum! Then, top with sugar sprinkles for a little sparkle or a pop of color (especially if you’re using white icing).

Graduation Snack #5: Honor Roll Dipped Pretzels

This last graduation snack is a festive take on chocolate-dipped pretzels. To make these sweet snacks, start by melting white chocolate (morsels or candy melts). Dip the pretzel rods in the melted chocolate and top with classy, shimmering sprinkles that fit your theme or your graduate’s school colors.

You could also add food coloring to the white chocolate to create the school colors if you would prefer. Either way, these Honor Roll Dipped Pretzels are sweet, salty and sure to be a big hit.

No matter which of the five graduation snacks you choose to make, you can feel confident that your sweet creation will put a smile on your graduate’s face. After all, they’re tasty, festive and oh-so-fun!
