Cecilia Elizabeth Thompson is senior at Virginia Union University, majoring in Accounting. She is a proud native of the nation’s capital, Washington, DC. As a Presidential Honors scholar, she maintains a GPA of 3.9. Cecilia is proud a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated, as well as many other organizations on campus including the 2016-2017 Royal Court, Future Business Leaders of America, and the Residence Hall Association. She takes pride in participating in many forms of community service, as a previous mentor at Carver Elementary and current volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army. She lives by the quote, “be the change you wish to see in the world,” inspired by values instilled in her by her loving parents, Juan and Diana Thompson. Cecilia stands firmly on her platform of “Pathways to excellence: helping others to find their own road to success and leadership while encouraging all to remain united in a commitment to service, knowledge, and school pride.” Her goal is to inspire students of Virginia Union University and young African-Americans all over to find themselves, find their talents, and show them off to the world with confidence.
