Apple Cider

  1. In a large saucepan or stock pot, place the apples, cinnamon sticks, cinnamon, allspice, orange, and white sugar.
  2. Pour in enough apple juice to cover the apples in the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook on medium-high for approximately 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for another hour, covered. Stir occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let the cider cool. Using a spoon or a potato masher, mash the apples, then strain the cider to remove the pulp and spices. (You may need to strain it through cheesecloth to ensure that the pulp is removed.)
  5. Serve and enjoy!
