- Generously coat a 12-cup mini fluted cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, vanilla and food coloring and stir until completely smooth, about 2-4 minutes. Add the Apple Jacks and stir until the cereal is thoroughly coated. Let cool slightly before handling.
- Lightly grease hands with nonstick cooking spray. Press the cereal mixture into each cake pan mold. Let cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Invert cake pan onto cooling rack to release cakes. Set aside.
- Divide the frosting into 3 separate bowls. Add the black and purple food coloring to 2 bowls, to make 2 different colors of frosting. Add a few teaspoons of water at a time to each color to create a thick glaze. Mix to combine.
- Decoratively drizzle each color glaze over the cakes. Top with the sprinkles and serve.
Recipe Tip: To enjoy this recipe anytime of the year, simply change the black and purple food coloring to any festive color!
Substitute: Feel free to substitute Rice Krispies for the Apple Jacks!
