A hearty family favorite: mac 'n cheese with a beefy upgrade. Throw in some sweet onions and bell peppers and watch this casserole disappear.
Ingredients
Directions
-
In a skillet, cook the ground beef until it's thoroughly done; add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
-
In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter, stir in the cornstarch, and cook until thoroughly combined. Stir in the milk. Cook for 5 or 6 minutes until thoroughly heated.
-
Remove from the heat and add in the grated cheese. Stir until it melts. Add the sour cream, mix it thoroughly.
-
Pour the cheese mixture over the pasta and mix thoroughly.
-
In a separate skillet, saute the onions and bell peppers in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Saute for 8 to 10 minutes or until soft.
-
Add the onions and peppers to the ground beef and mix thoroughly.
-
Combine the beef mixture with the pasta mixture and mix well. Transfer to a casserole dish.
-
Sprinkle the top with the brioche breadcrumbs.
-
Bake in a 350-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy!
