Use a micro brew or your favorite beer to create the batter for fried beer batter onion rings. Follow the steps in this easy beer batter recipe!

  1. Add 2-3 inches of canola oil to pot and heat until 350F.
  2. Slice onions into thick slices, about ½ inches and separate.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, and sugar in a large bowl and stir. Whisk in beer.
  4. Add additional flour to second bowl for coating.
  5. Coat onion slice in flour, completely coat in beer batter and carefully drop in heated oil. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side.
  6. Use a slotted metal spoon or tongs to remove and let drain on paper towel.
