Beer-Glazed Sausage and Apples

Makes 3 to 4 servings
Flavorful and delicious- this sausage and apple dish makes a great lunch or entree. Just serve with your favorite side dish and enjoy!


Select ingredients:


  1. In a large, non-stick skillet, melt the butter and add the apples, ½ cup of the apple juice, and 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are softened and the apple juice is reduced. Pour the apples into a bowl and set aside.
  2. To the same skillet, add the sliced sausages, the beer, the cayenne pepper, the remainder of the brown sugar, the orange zest, the pepper, basil, and oregano. Cook over medium heat and stir frequently until everything is browned and the beer is reduced (about 15 minutes).
  3. Transfer the apples back to the skillet with the sausages and stir to incorporate all ingredients. Add the remaining ½ cup of apple juice and cook until the apple juice is reduced to a glaze- another 10 minutes or so.
