This red, white and blue recipe combines the fresh taste of berries and whipped cream and one of our favorite childhood sweet snacks - Rice Krispies Treats®. Plus, with its patriotic colors, it’s the perfect dessert to celebrate the 4th of July (and Memorial Day too). Sound like something you want to try for your festivities – whether at home or with a small group of close friends? With only 8 ingredients and in about 30 minutes, you’ll have this red, white and blue dessert recipe on the table and ready to enjoy!

  1. Coat a 13x18-inch rimmed baking sheet with butter or nonstick cooking spray. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until foamy. Add marshmallows and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal until well-distributed.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a prepared pan and press into an even layer with wax paper or a buttered spatula. Set aside to cool completely.
  3. While the treats cool, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks. Add in honey (to taste) and remaining vanilla. Continue to whip to stiff peaks.
  4. Cut the treats into 2-inch squares. Just before serving, top each square with a dollop of whipped cream and garnish with fresh berries.

    *Tip: No fresh berries on-hand? Use frozen instead! Simply thaw and pat dry before topping your Berry Shortcake Rice Krispies Treats®.
