Put a scrumptious spin on a classic grilled entrée with this Blue Cheese Burger recipe! Topped with a creamy blue cheese sauce and crispy onions, this burger dish is cheesy and tangy with a slight crunch. But, if there is a family member or two that aren’t huge fans of blue cheese, simply use a little less in your sauce to make the flavor a little lighter. Then, serve with fries or oven roasted potatoes. And fun fact – these burgers pair nicely with a glass of your favorite brand of Cabernet Sauvignon, like Artie.
- Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper and egg by hand until just incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat. Separate into four equally sized patties.
- Place the hamburger patties on the grill pan and do not disturb for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, make your blue cheese sauce by combining all of ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Flip patties and cook for another 3-5 minutes, depending on desired meat temperature. While waiting, toast the burger buns cut-side-down on a dry sauté pan over high heat for 1 minute, or until edges are dark brown. Remove the hamburger meat from the heat.
- Spread the creamy blue cheese sauce on the burger buns and top with crispy onions. Serve immediately.
