- Remove the casings from the brats
- Cook and crumble the brats in a large skillet until no longer pink drain and place off to the side.
- Add cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Whisk together eggs, milk and butter in a mixing bowl; Combine the ingredients from both bowls and stir until moistened. Add the brats, red bell pepper and cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Transfer the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick placed close to the center comes out clean.
- Serve warm.
