Breakfast Grits

What's better than a big bowl of grits to start off the morning? They're especially lovely when topped with crumbled bacon...


Select ingredients:


  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil, then add the quick cooking grits and the salt.
  2. Cook (covered) over medium-low heat for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, stirring as needed.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in the cheddar until melted (reserve 1/4 cup of the cheddar to top the grits later). Add the pepper and stir.
  4. Add about 3/4 of the bacon and stir into the grits.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and bacon on top.
  6. Serve warm.
