Brown Butter Halibut with Slivered Almonds

Halibut should be on the list of easiest fish to prepare. It is forgiving in the pan and soaks up whatever flavors you add to it. This recipe calls for good-for-you slivered almonds. Combined with brown butter, the flavor of the almonds and halibut's natural sweetness packs this protein with extra goodness.


Select ingredients:


  1. Rinse halibut well and pat dry. Heat butter in pan and add almonds, cooking until slightly browned. Remove almonds with slotted spoon and set aside.
  2. Place halibut in hot pan, skin side down. Cook until halibut is opaque, spooning brown butter over the filets to coat the top of the fish. When fish is white, flip briefly and let cook for approximately 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat and garnish with almonds and fresh chives. Serve immediately.
