- Mix together the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in a small bowl. Put the butter mixture on a piece of plastic wrap and roll into a log. Chill the spiced butter for an hour or more.
- Heat the apple cider in a large saucepan over medium heat. Pour into mugs and top with a slice of the spiced butter. Add a few tablespoons of Bourbon to each mug of mulled apple cider, if desired. Enjoy immediately.
