Get ready for the Big Game with a warm cheese dip that’s a flavor touchdown and a snack the whole family will love. Made with ground sausage, bell peppers, two kinds of cheese, salsa and spices, then topped with cilantro, this savory starter is zesty, creamy and delicious! But, if your family doesn’t like spicy foods, simply swap the medium salsa for mild. That way, you still get to enjoy the fresh flavor, but without the added kick.

Directions

  1. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and drain all but 1 tablespoon of grease from skillet. Add bell peppers and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until tender. Add chili powder, garlic powder and cumin and cook for 2 more minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of milk. Set aside. Add remaining milk and cream cheese to skillet. Stir gently until cream cheese is completely melted.
  3. Add cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and cornstarch mixture and browned sausage and stir until cheese is completely melted. Garnish with cilantro and serve warm.

Recipe Tip: Serve with tortilla chips, sliced bread or your favorite fresh cut vegetables. And for an extra kick of flavor, use Doritos® Nacho, Taco or Spicy Nacho chips for dipping.
