Chicken Cordon Bleu sounds complicated but is really quite simple. It's warm, creamy, and delicious.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. On each piece of chicken, layer one slice of Swiss followed by one slice of deli ham. Roll up each piece of chicken so the cheese and ham are inside. Roll the chicken in breadcrumbs until coated.
- Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake at 350-degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour, then slowly add the milk, whisking continually. Whisk in the onion powder, Swiss, salt and pepper, chicken broth, mustard, mayonnaise, and parmesan. Continue to cook, stirring regularly, until the sauce is thickened.
