Whether you’re pressed for time at home or on the go, having lunch prepped and ready to eat is a fantastic time-saver. Our Chicken Salad Mason Jars are tasty, easy to make and portable! Plus, both kids and adults will love the flavors, so they will make great lunchbox meals too. And you can either eat this salad in the mason jars or empty the salad contents into a bowl. The choice is yours! Additionally, to save even more time, skip making your own dressing and pick up a bottle of your favorite from Food Lion. Poppyseed, honey mustard and balsamic vinaigrette are tasty choices to pair with this salad’s flavor combination.

Select ingredients:

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and cook in a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat, 3 to 4 minutes each side. Set aside and allow to cool.
  2. Toast pecans in oven for 10 minutes in a nonstick pan. Sprinkle with salt while still hot. Set aside.
  3. Make dressing: Whisk together yogurt, mustard, poppy seeds, honey and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. 1. Cut cooled chicken into slices. In a mason jar, begin layering salad by adding 2 to 4 Tbsp. of dressing first; then chicken, lettuce, onion, grapes, apples and pecans. This will help you avoid a soggy salad during travel!

*Tip: Want to add a smoky flavor to your Chicken Salad Mason Jars? Grill your chicken instead!
