Sliced cabbage makes a more filling salad base then lettuce, and served with these spicy shrimp makes a hearty lunch to bring to work.
Gather all of your recipe ingredients.
- Toss the shrimp with red pepper flakes, ginger, sugar and vegetable oil and season to taste with salt and pepper. Allow to sit while you prepare the salad.
Once the salad has been assembled heat a large skillet over medium high heat, and when just beginning to smoke add shrimp with marinade. Cook until shrimp are fully pink and brown in spots, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and season with salt again if necessary.
In a large bowl toss cabbage, scallions, and chopped cilantro together. Whisk together lime juice, sesame oil, and soy sauce then pour over cabbage. Toss together and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with chili shrimp.
