I'm known for my sugar cookies. I make them for Halloween, Valentines Day, Christmas, and Easter! I use the exact recipes for all of my cookies and change them up depending on the theme. Below is an easy and fun recipe for frosted sugar cookies!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix the butter and sugar together using an electric mixer.
  2. Slowly mix in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. Slowly mix in the flour mixture.
  5. Roll the dough into a large ball and wrap it. Refrigerate for thirty minutes.
  6. While the dough is refrigerating, make the icing. Mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and egg whites.
  7. I use a cupcake pan to separate the colored icings.
  8. Fill a squeeze bottle with red icing for the wording.
  9. Create the colors. Add one cup of icing in each slot.
  10. Take the dough out of the refrigerator. Add flour to the counter top or use a pastry cloth to roll the dough out and cut shapes.
  11. Bake cookies for 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
  12. Let cookies cool completely before adding icing.
  13. Spread the icing over the heart cookie. Royal icing tends to spread out, so don't add too much.
  14. Use the squeeze bottle to write conversation quotes.
  15. Let the frosting harden for an hour
  16. Enjoy!
  17. Conversation quotes: "Too Hot", "Call Me", "I Luv You", "Be Mine", "Be True", Xoxo","You Rock"
  18. You can wrap the cookies up in little baggies to give to your favorite Valentine.
  19. Recipe makes 42 large cookies
  20. Use this recipe for any party theme!
