This tart cranberry sauce far outshines anything that comes in a can and it only takes a few minutes to prepare. Red wine and grapes help balance the tartness of the cranberries and orange jest offers a bright, citrusy note.
Ingredients
Directions
- Place the cranberries and grapes in a medium-sized pot on a stovetop heated to medium. Let fruit cook for about five minutes or until cranberries start to soften.
- Then add in the wine, salt, orange juice and sugar and bring to a boil for two minutes or until the cranberries begin to burst. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently, or until the liquid has been reduced and the mixture resembles a thick sauce.
- Add orange zest, reserving some for garnish, stir, and remove from heat. Transfer to a serving dish, top with additional zest, and serve immediately or keep in fridge overnight.
