Remember the good old days when every party had a savory cheese ball platter? Guests lined up to partake of a crispy cracker with some of that creamy, sharp cheese rolled in some sort of nut mixture. Good news: this staple party food is making a comeback. This cheese ball recipe is so easy you won't want to wait for the next party or make one or two to keep in your own fridge for after school snacks or as a unique topper for your next grilled burger.
- Let cheddar cheese set out until softened to room temperature. Mix cheddar cheese, cream cheese, salt and wine in food processor until thoroughly combined.
- Spoon cheese mixture onto plate and let chill in fridge until pliable.
- While cheese ball is chilling, cook butter until brown. Add slivered almonds and sautee until extra crunchy. Set aside to cool.
- When cheese is hardened, roll into a ball and roll in almond mixture. Place on a platter with almond crackers and serve.
