- Remove outer layers of both cabbages. Chop entire purple cabbage into strips. Chop ¼ regular head of cabbage into strips. Purchase pre-chopped carrots or julienne then into long, narrow pieces. Finely chop jalapeno. Mix cabbage, carrots, lime juice, vinegar, canola oil and salt and pepper in a large bowl. Chill for 10 minutes and serve.
