Fanned Orange and Pineapple Ham

We love the classic look of this colorful ham, which makes a stunning centerpiece at a spring or winter holiday feast. The vivid yellow of the pineapple slices and orange of the orange rounds contrast beautifully, and the sweet, tangy juices compliment the rich, bold flavor of the hickory smoked ham.

  1. Let the ham sit at room temperature for 1 hour before cooking.
  2. Bring the pineapple juice, brown sugar and mustard to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally until thick, about 10-15 minutes. Set aside for basting the ham.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Place a pineapple slice and an orange slice in alternating patterns between each slice of the ham.
  4. Bake the ham, basting every 15 minutes with the pineapple juice mixture, until a meat thermometer reads 145°F, about 1 hour 20 minutes (10 minutes per pound). Serve and enjoy.

Recipe Tip: Prepare it in the slow cooker! Cover and cook the ham on low, basting every hour, until a meat thermometer reads 145°F, about 5 to 6 hours.
