Directions

  1. Mix together ingredients to make royal icing. You want this to be fairly thick. Add a little more water if needed. Place the royal icing in a small Ziploc bag and cut off a very small corner. Twist the bag and squeeze to pipe on football laces to whole almonds. Gently place them on to a half sheet pan lined with parchment paper to dry. About 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt the chocolate chips, butter, and peanut butter. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. Once the mixture is melted, remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract. Pour the Chex cereal into the melted chocolate mixture and stir to coat everything. Place the powdered sugar in a large Ziploc bag. Pour the chocolate coated cereal into the bag and shake until completely coated. Let the mixture dry on a parchment lined sheet pan for 15-20 minutes.
  3. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt the white chocolate, butter, and peanut butter. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. Once the mixture is melted, remove from the heat, add the vanilla extract and coconut. Pour the Chex cereal into the melted chocolate mixture and stir to coat everything. Place the powdered sugar in a large Ziploc bag. Pour the chocolate coated cereal into the bag and shake until completely coated. Add a little more powdered sugar if the mixture is too sticky. Let the mixture dry on a parchment lined sheet pan for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Combine the brown and green puppy chow, along with the football almonds. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for a few days.
