Pears are often overlooked during the holiday season, but this recipe makes them a headliner.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place ham in a roasting dish and set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, combine pears with juice , dark brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cloves, vanilla, pepper and allspice. Bring to a low boil for 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Slowly pour the pear mixture over the ham, making sure to get in the slices. Cover with foil and place in the oven.
Cook for two hours, basting every 30 minutes. Let ham rest and serve.
