Fire up the grill and cook up some plant-based burgers with this zesty and cheesy recipe. These Green Chili Nacho Cheese “Burgers” are topped with a creamy cheese sauce, green chilies, jalapeno slices, fresh green leaf lettuce and red onion. And for some added crunch and cheesy flavor, these burgers also have nacho cheese tortilla chips on them! Then, for serving, a fresh salad like a black bean and corn salad is a tasty pairing.
- Combine the American cheese, cream cheese and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the cheese is melted and mixture is completely smooth. Add half of the green chilies and stir to combine. Lower heat to keep warm.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the plant-based burgers 4 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Place cooked burgers on bottom buns and top with green chili queso, remaining green chilies, red onion, jalapeno and lettuce.
