Pork chops and fruit are two flavors that go really well together. So, when you’re ready to put that to the test, give this Grilled Pork Chops with Apple Salsa a try. Crisp apples, fresh herbs and zesty jalapeños over smoky grilled pork chops. Sounds delicious, right? But, if you have little ones in the family and want to make sure the apple salsa isn’t too spicy, here’s a tip! Either leave the jalapeños out or look for peppers with smooth skin and no white lines. That’s a sign that the jalapeños are on the mild side.
- Combine olive oil, vinegar, chili powder, cinnamon and salt in a plastic bag. Soak the pork chops in marinade overnight, coating them evenly by turning the bag over several times.
- Preheat grill on high with lid closed for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the salsa ingredients in a medium bowl (to prevent browning, cut and add apples last).
- Open the grill lid and lower to medium heat. Cook chops 5 minutes on one side without disturbing, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes, until internal temperature reads 145°F.
Allow the meat to rest for 5 minutes, then top with apple salsa.
Recipe Tip: Serve these pork chops alongside roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts.
