Great as a side dish for two, this is best served when strawberries are in season for the best flavor!

Select ingredients:

  1. Wash lettuce, then remove excess leaves and trim root, leaving bunch intact.
  2. Coat outer lettuce leaves with olive oil either by using a pastry brush or evenly spray all surfaces with a Misto Oil Sprayer. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste.
  3. Place on grill lit to high. Cook until lightly browned on both sides. Each side should require five minutes or less.
  4. Wash and decap the strawberries. Place balsamic reduction in one bowl, sugar in another. Dip strawberries in balsamic reduction.
  5. Next, roll in sugar until completely coated.
  6. If desired, strawberries can be skewered, sliced in half or left whole for grilling. Place strawberries on grill.
  7. Allow balsamic reduction/sugar coating to caramelize. Each side should require one minute or less. Plate grilled romaine lettuce with grilled strawberries, lightly drizzling additional balsamic reduction if desired.
