Great as a side dish for two, this is best served when strawberries are in season for the best flavor!
Ingredients
Directions
- Wash lettuce, then remove excess leaves and trim root, leaving bunch intact.
- Coat outer lettuce leaves with olive oil either by using a pastry brush or evenly spray all surfaces with a Misto Oil Sprayer. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste.
-
Place on grill lit to high. Cook until lightly browned on both sides. Each side should require five minutes or less.
-
Wash and decap the strawberries.
Place balsamic reduction in one bowl, sugar in another.
Dip strawberries in balsamic reduction.
-
Next, roll in sugar until completely coated.
-
If desired, strawberries can be skewered, sliced in half or left whole for grilling.
Place strawberries on grill.
- Allow balsamic reduction/sugar coating to caramelize. Each side should require one minute or less. Plate grilled romaine lettuce with grilled strawberries, lightly drizzling additional balsamic reduction if desired.
