Nothin will warm you up on a cold winter day quite like this cheesy ham and potato chowder recipe. Stirring in bacon adds a nice flavor to the chowder


Select ingredients:


  1. Cook the bacon over a medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon and place on a paper towel.
  2. In the drippings from the bacon, sauté onion and carrots until tender. Stir in flour until blended.
  3. Gradually begin adding milk and water. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes while stirring.
  4. Add the potatoes, corn, bouillon, and pepper. Reduce the heat and allow for chowder to simmer, uncovered for 20 minutes (or until the potatoes are tender).
  5. Add cheese and ham; heat until cheese has melted. Stir in bacon and serve!
