This makes a special breakfast for someone special (like Mom!) with enough left over to share with another special someone (like you)!
Ingredients
Directions
-
Use your cookie cutter to cut heart shapes out of the center of the slices of bread. (Save the hearts - you'll use those in a minute.)
-
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Place the slices and hearts on the skillet and toast them on both sides.
-
Crack an egg into the middle of the heart-shaped cut-out.
-
Try to keep the yolk in the center - it likes to drift to the side.
-
Place a lid on the skillet and cook the egg until it reaches your desired level of doneness (probably about 3 minutes).
-
Add the salt, pepper, and chives (if desired).
-
Repeat with any remaining bread slices/eggs, then serve and enjoy!
