Whip up a batch of these flavorful veggie dogs for your next cook out and add all of your favorite toppings for a vegetarian treat that tastes just as good as the real thing.
- In a food processor, combine all ingredients except the vital wheat gluten and cornstarch. Puree everything until a smooth paste forms, then transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Add in the vital wheat gluten and cornstarch and stir until a soft dough forms, then knead together with your hands until everything is incorporated.
- Separate the dough into 9 evenly sized balls, and then roll out each one until it is about 6” long and an inch thick. Wrap them individually in parchment paper (to make them easier to remove), then foil, twisting the ends to secure the dough. Bake in the oven at 350-degrees for 45 minutes.
- When cooking is complete, eat as-is or transfer to the grill for a nice charred, fresh-grilled flavor. Grill for several more minutes if desired, then remove from heat, top with your favorite condiments and enjoy immediately.
