- Wash and peel apples, then cut them into small slices.
- Place the apples, honey, and cinnamon in a covered saucepan and add water. Cook over low to medium heat until the apples are tender, about 20 to 30 minutes (cooking time varies depending on the variety of the apples).
- Beat until smooth, or leave the sauce as a chunkier version.
- VARIATION: Add additional fruit, such as cranberries. If you do so, you'll need to add a bit more honey or 1/4 cup brown sugar to offset the tartness.
