Italian Meatball Subs

  1. Cook meatballs according to package instructions.
  2. Sauté onion and bell pepper in olive oil over medium-high heat until onion is tender. Add Italian seasoning and cook and additional minute; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add tomato sauce and tomato paste. Add cooked meatballs to sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat oven broiler with rack 4 to 6 inches from element. Brush sandwich rolls with melted butter and place under broiler until toasted. Spoon 3 meatballs and sauce onto each roll; top with 2 cheese slices. Return sandwiches to broiler until cheese is melted and browned.
