Cheeseburgers are a family favorite dish that are oh-so tasty, but not exactly healthy, right? Sure, you can swap the bun for a whole wheat variety, but there’s another way to make a burger more nutritious – as a low-carb salad! And this recipe layers all of the salad ingredients in mason jars, making it perfect for summertime picnics or even school lunches (when it’s time for the kiddos to head back).
Ingredients
Directions
-
Cook the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a large skillet over medium heat until meat is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
-
Divide the dressing evenly among 4 large mason jars. Layer with the diced tomatoes, onion, pickles, shredded cheese, ground beef and lettuce.
-
Store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy. To serve, pour the jar’s contents into a bowl and toss to combine.
