Meatloaf is a well-deserved classic, and these marvelous meatballs showcase the hearty familiarity of meatloaf in an upgraded package.
- In a bowl, combine the beef, the milk, the egg, three-quarters of the onion, the breadcrumbs, and the salt and pepper. Mix together until everything is combined.
- Roll and shape the meat mixture into 1 ½-inch meatballs. Place them in an 8x8-inch baking dish (they should be touching each other).
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, the ketchup, and the remaining diced onion. Mix together, then brush over the tops of the meatballs in the baking dish.
- Bake in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes.
