Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs with Simple Italian Tomato Sauce

Juicy, cheesy meatballs tossed in a flavorful and light marinara sauce atop soft folds of your favorite pasta. This dish takes comfort food to a whole new level.



  1. Place mozzarella pieces I into the freezer for 30 minutes before stuffing.
  2. Mix together ground beef, sausage, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Add in egg and mix until well combined.
  3. Using wet hands, shape mixture into 18-20, two inch meatballs. Push a frozen mozzarella piece into the center and roll the meatball again (with wet hands) until round.
  4. Brown meatballs in a bit of olive oil on top of the stove, over medium heat for about 5 minutes (this can be done in batches), then place into the simmering sauce. Once all meatballs are in the sauce, cover and simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
