- Make the salsa fresco. In a large bowl mix tomatoes, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime zest and juice, and salt. Set aside so ingredients can marinate.
- Cook sausage in a hot pan until browned. Drain the grease and break sausage into crumbles and set aside.
- In a sauce pan over medium heat, heat milk. Stir in cheese until melted and continue to stir, adding fresh salsa including juices. Mix well.
- Add sausage crumbles and hot sauce. Mix everything together until combination is hot. Pour into serving bowl and arrange chips around it. Garnish with green onion. Serve immediately.
