- In a saucepan on top of a double boiler, melt the peanut butter and butterscotch chips over medium heat. Stirring consistently to avoid burning
- Pour melted peanut butter and butterscotch mixture over the noodles and peanuts, mix until all the Chow Mein noodles are coated
- Drop a spoonful of haystacks onto parchment or wax paper and let cool.
- Store haystacks in airtight containers
