- Remove outer leaves of cabbage and wash thoroughly. Chop cabbage, onion and celery. Boil 6 cups of water and add three or four chicken bouillon cubes until desired flavor is achieved. (Chicken broth can be very salty sow taste often and stop adding bouillon cubes when desired saltiness is reached.)
- Salt and pepper ground beef and brown well. Drain fat. Set aside.
- Cook onion, celery and cabbage in chicken broth until tender. Add ground beef, tomatoes and remaining ingredients and simmer until hot. Do not allow to boil.
- Serve with crusty bread and butter or over rice.
