- Combine 1 cup sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in 2 quart saucepan. Add water and stir until dissolved. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils; stir constantly. Add peaches . Cook five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; pour into 2quart casserole. Combine biscuit mix and the 2 tablespoons sugar. Cut in buttter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add Carnation. Stir to mix. Drop by heaping teaspoons n peaches. Bake in hot oven [400 F] 30 minutes. Serve Warm for best taste.
- If using canned fruit prepare recipe above using 1lb 13 oz can or jar of sliced peaches and juice... in place of fresh fruit. Use Only 1/2 cup sugar and omit 1 cup of water in above.
- Prep time varies if using fresh fruit or canned... simple either way and great use of peaches in summer...
