Who knew that peanut brittle could be so easy to make? Your family will love this delightful holiday treat.

  1. In a large saucepan, mix together the sugar, salt, water, and corn syrup. Heat on high for approximately 4 minutes or until the candy thermometer reaches 240 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Stir in the peanuts and continue cooking, stirring frequently, for approximately 10 minutes more, or until the candy thermometer reaches about 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and baking soda.
  4. Once thoroughly combined, pour immediately onto a very large buttered cookie sheet. Spread the brittle out quickly so that it covers the entire pan, then let it cool and break into pieces.
