Take your hot chocolate to the next level by adding a peppermint rice krispies treat ornament to the mug. Learn how to make this festive holiday treat!

In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add in the marshmallows.

Stir continuously until they melt.

Quickly stir in the crushed candy canes and stir well.

Remove from the heat and pour in the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until everything is completely combined.

Shape the mixture into the snowballs.

Make them approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. As you shape, squeeze the mixture so it feels firm.

Carefully insert a mini candy cane into the center of each one. Place in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.

Melt the white melting wafers as directed on the package. Add the vegetable oil and stir well. Dip each snowball into the melted wafers.

Coat each one completely.

Let it set for about 30 seconds, then quickly add the sprinkles. **If you wait too long, the sprinkles won't stick.

Set them aside to cool completely. Serve with hot cocoa and enjoy!
