Philly Cheese Steak

This hearty classic sandwich filled with shaved steak, American cheese, peppers and onions will fill up any hungry tailgaters on game day.

  1. In a large cast iron skillet, over medium heat melt the butter and oil. Once it is hot, add the slices of onions and peppers. Cook over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, until soft.
  2. Turn the heat up slightly, and add the shaved steak to the peppers and onions. Brown the steak, using tongs to turn it. Season with salt, pepper and steak sauce.
  3. Slice each roll, almost, but not completely through. Spread a layer of mayonnaise on each roll. Layer each roll with steak, peppers and onions and 2 slices of cheese.
  4. Place on a parchment lined half sheet pan and place under the broiler, on high for 2-4 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned. Serve immediately.
