- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and pepper, then cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess liquid.
- Add the marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to the beef and mix to combine. Bring to a simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce is slightly thickened with some juice left in the pan.
- Evenly divide the beef mixture between the kaiser roll bottom buns and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese. Place on a baking sheet and broil for 1 minute or until the cheese is melted. Add the top buns and serve immediately.
Recipe Tip: Alternatively, fold the shredded cheese into the beef mixture for a cheesy filling!"
